Love Language

Something to fall in love with are someone’s mannerisms. A simple love language. I’ve learned from the way you slow down the speed of your steps at the sight of me behind you. All the times when I look away, unable to meet your gaze, but you wait for us to catch the same line of sight again. I’ve noticed the mornings when you haven’t had a cup of black coffee yet. The times you couldn’t sleep in your own bed. The wrinkles around your eyes disappear. And that’s when I want to hold you. I follow your scent, the classic late nights and cigarettes. From what I’ve felt, you’re soft. Your heart is at least. And when you lean in to whisper in my ear, I can almost feel our heartbeats pace themselves. Life seems worth it once again.
